Booking choice: The private Belém tuk-tuk, from $57 per person. Check dates Tour details
Of the eleven Belém Tower listings on this site, two include entry. The land tours below stop outside, from a three-minute look on the e-bike tour to half an hour on the private walk. What they really sell is the rest of Belém: Jerónimos, the Padrão, a custard tart and someone to explain it all.
Prices are Viator from-prices in US dollars, checked in October 2026, and they move a little.
The quick answer
Short on time or legs: the private tuk-tuk ($57 per person, tiered), with hotel pickup and 10 minutes at the tower. On a budget and fit: the bike tour, $18 for the bike plus a tip for the guide, 4 to 5 hours and 10 minutes at the tower. For Jerónimos in depth: the private walk ($195 tiered), cloister ticket included, 30 minutes outside the tower. To go inside the tower, only the guided tour ($56) or the entry ticket ($34) will do.

Which Belém tours actually go inside the tower?
Two: the guided tour with tickets ($56) and the entry ticket with a host ($34, non-refundable). Every other land tour stops outside, and the boats pass on the river.
All eleven, by what you get at the tower:
| Tour | Format | At the tower | Length | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guided tour with tickets | Small group, max 24 | Entry included, guided | 1.5 h | $56 |
| Entry ticket with host | Host until entry | Entry included, no guide inside | 2 h | $34 |
| Private walk with Jerónimos | Private walk | 30-min stop outside | 2 to 4 h | $195 |
| Private tuk-tuk | Private, max 6 | 10-min stop outside | 2 h | $57 |
| Bike tour | Group, max 16 | 10-min stop outside | 4 to 5 h | $18 + tip |
| E-bike tour | Group, max 24 | 3-min stop, not always | 2.5 h | $25 |
| Hop-on hop-off bus | Bus, 24 h | A stop; your time is yours | 24 h | $25 |
| Hippotrip | Amphibious bus | Passes on the river | 1.5 h | $34 |
| Sunset and wine sail | Sailboat, max 12 | Seen from the water | 2 h | $63 |
| Bom Sucesso sail | Sailboat, max 30 | Seen from the water | 2 h | $52 |
| Yacht sail | Yacht, max 14 | Seen from the water | 2 h | $69 |
The boats have their own guide: Belém Tower from the river. This one covers the land tours.
The only guided way inside: tickets included, a local guide, free cancellation up to 24 hours before.
Check dates for the guided Belém Tower tourIs a Belém tuk-tuk tour worth it?
For a short visit with little walking, yes: two hours, hotel pickup, four stops. You get 10 minutes at the tower and 15 at Jerónimos, outside both.
The private Belém tuk-tuk (5.0 from 45 reviews) collects you from a central hotel, or meets at Avenida da Liberdade 3 by Restauradores, and runs four stops: Pastéis de Belém for 10 minutes, Jerónimos for 15, the tower for 10 and the Padrão for 10. The listing does not name the operator. Up to six people share a tuk-tuk, and children 7 and under are not allowed by law.
Two things to know: the custard tarts are not included, and the ride is bumpy, so skip it with a bad back. Guests like it for what it is. Karen, in October 2023: "It was a short tour but I would recommend it for those of you who have only a short time in Lisbon." A cruise passenger had the guide meet them at the port and extended the tour to three hours.

How does the $18 bike tour work?
It follows the free-tour model: the $18 pays for the bike and helmet, and the guide works for tips. Expect 4 to 5 hours, about 22 km, mostly flat, with 10 minutes at the tower.
The bike tour from downtown to Belém (Free Bike Tours Lisbon, 4.9 from 717) starts near Santa Apolónia and follows the river past Praça do Comércio, the Time Out Market, the 25 de Abril bridge, the Padrão, the tower and MAAT, with a pink-street stop on the way back. Monument tickets, snacks and tips are extra; groups go up to 16. Kellie, in August 2026: "You pay a smaller fee for the bike rental for the 4 hour ride and tour and then tip your guide!"
Budget the tip as part of the price. The stops are short. Val, in May 2026: "Be aware you will not stop too long in any one place, but you will have the perfect blueprint to return to favorites." A 3-star guest in August 2025 found the guide too fast, had 30 minutes for lunch and saw four chains come off. You need to be comfortable on a busy cycle path.

Ride 4 to 5 flat hours from downtown to Belém and back for the price of the bike, then tip the guide what the day was worth.
Explore the bike tour to Belém Tour detailsIs the e-bike tour a good way to see Belém Tower?
As a ride, yes. As a way to see the tower, not reliably: the listing gives it a 3-minute stop, and two 2026 guests never reached it.
The riverside e-bike tour (Boost Portugal, $25, 4.8 from 243) runs 2.5 hours from the Terreiro do Trigo store with a custard tart and coffee included. Guests love the guides and the flat river path. The tower is the weak spot: Lillian, in September 2026, wrote that a chain kept coming off "so guide said no time to go to the tower", and Hilary, in June 2026, that "You stop significantly short of Belem".
Limits: ages 12 and up, at least 1.5 m tall, 118 kg at most. A 2025 guest's advice still holds: if the tower matters, ask at booking.

What do you get on the private Belém and Jerónimos walk?
A guide of your own, the Jerónimos cloister ticket and a guided visit inside, then 30 minutes each at the Padrão and outside the tower. No tower entry.
The private walk (Cooltour Lisbon, 4.7 from 60) meets in front of the Jerónimos entrance, where the guide holds a blue and yellow flag. The monastery is the core: up to two hours with the €18 cloister ticket included and access to the church. Tours run in English, French, Spanish or Portuguese, with a minimum of two people.
Reviews praise the guides by name. The complaints, all from 2025: headsets that broke, a 45-minute wait for the 9:30 opening after a 9:00 meeting time, and a tower stop skipped during the restoration. One 2024 guest's tip is a good one: arrive early and get a pastel at Pastéis de Belém up the street.
Your own guide inside Jerónimos, the cloister ticket included, then the Padrão and the tower.
Check dates for the private Belém and Jerónimos walkHow does tiered pricing work on the private tours?
The per-person price falls as your group grows. The $57 tuk-tuk and $195 walk prices are Viator's from-prices; check the total for your exact group at checkout.
Private tours cost the operator roughly the same whether two or six people come, so Viator splits the price by group size. The tuk-tuk listing says the price is per person and adult pricing applies to everyone, children included. The walk also lists group discounts. Two people pay the most each; a full tuk-tuk of six pays the least.
For couples, that makes the private walk the dearest option here by far. For a family of five, a tuk-tuk can cost less per head than a shared tour with entry tickets.
Why does the Belém hop-on hop-off bus rate only 3.0?
Guests report hour-long waits while other companies' buses passed, broken headphones, stops that are hard to find, and a ticket that covers one line only.
The Yellow Bus Belém line ($25 for 24 hours, 3.0 from 486) leaves Praça dos Restauradores, runs up Avenida da Liberdade and out to Belém, with Jerónimos, the tower and the Padrão as stops. It includes Carris trams for the 24 hours and an audio guide in 12 languages; monument tickets are extra.
The low score comes from the same few problems, again and again. A March 2026 guest waited an hour for a yellow bus while red buses passed. Two August 2026 guests found the audio not working on the top deck. Cruise passengers struggled to find the first stop, and several expected all of the company's lines on one ticket. Happy guests used it to get a lay of the land on a single day. Treat it as a tram pass with a bus line attached.

Which Belém tour should you pick?
Inside the tower: the guided tour. Little walking: the tuk-tuk. Budget and energy: the bike tour. Jerónimos in depth: the private walk. Your own pace: the tram and a ticket.
- You want the inside of the tower: the guided tour with tickets, or the official €15 slot. See the tickets guide.
- Short on time, limited mobility: the private tuk-tuk, ages 8 and up.
- Fit and on a budget: the bike tour, $18 plus a tip.
- Easy ride, tower optional: the e-bike tour.
- Jerónimos with a guide: the private walk.
- Independent: tram 15E and your own tickets; getting there has the details.

No. The private tuk-tuk stops outside for 10 minutes. Only the guided tour with tickets and the entry ticket with a host include entry.

The tuk-tuk for children 8 and up, the Hippotrip for younger kids (from age 2). Both bike tours suit confident older children; the e-bike tour starts at 12.

Only as a flexible ticket: it includes Carris trams for 24 hours. Guests report long waits and broken audio, which explains its 3.0 rating.
